This is a battle between a child of God and a stronghold. Paul says, for though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10: 3-5)
Deliverance is meant for the believers who have some unresolved issues in their lives. And this is the reason why Jesus Christ gave the twelve apostles power to carry out deliverance among the lost sheep of the house of Israel and not for unbelievers (gentiles or Samaritans), (Matthew 10: 1-8)
The Holy Spirit brought deliverance on earth through the hands of Peter and Paul in the book of Acts. I pray that God will open the eyes of His children in order to see the kingdom of God on earth.
